Littleton & Harestock Show, 2004

Saturday, 4 September

Saturday 4th September was the day for the annual Littleton Show. Again the weather turned out to be glorious.

The format of the show was to the usual high standards, which many of us now take as the norm.

As previous years, Winchester Model & Engineering Society was in attendance and folk enjoyed the short rail trip on the 5 inch track.

The Craft tent displayed many quality hand produced goods.

The tombola was successful, and many lucky people were fortunate to win prizes.

Crowds gathered to cheer on the ladies football team whilst a bi-plane carried out its aerobatic flying display overhead.

The West End Carnival Show band played many tunes in a humorous style. It must have been so hot for the musicians to dress up like this on such a hot day!

There were a lot of activities for children too. Face painting was just one of them.

As well as things of interest for the adults.

Plus entertainment for all ages, by a falconry display.

Many fine vegetables were proudly displayed as well as many floral exhibits.

There were also many classifications, which also included art, photography, needlework, wine, cakes and jam making. These catered for all ages, and the standard produced was so high that this must have made things difficult for the judges to pick a winner.

Austin Hooker was one of the proud winners. He gained several trophies in many categories. As can be seen here, he cleared out the table that displayed many of the trophies.

This also signified the end of yet another successful show.
